"Had them out to resurface my original construction deck & bring it up to current codes.  Luke came out for an initial estimate (which he usually does on Mondays and Tuesdays when the crew is off) and gave me some ideas to chew on.  I wanted to do a modern look like one of the decks on his website, but the city's permitting process was somewhat elongated, in part, due to the access being all remote during COVID.

Communication throughout was excellent.  Samantha checked in every other week while the permitting process dragged on.   Some of the city's unique requirements were untenable (and odd given the same design is permitted in surrounding areas), so Luke suggested a more conventional railing.  I was able to redo the HOA approval pretty quickly thanks to materials supplied.

The work itself spanned two weeks.  As it's early season, with short daylight, the crew came out around 11am, staged their workspace, and finished up around 3pm, cleaning everything up after each day.  Luke was mentoring some of the younger folks, ensuring they learnt and did solid work.

In the end, the city's inspection was anticlimactic.  Very pleased with the results."
